Hi everyone,
We’re super excited to share that the Clowder Tote Bag stretch goal is now unlocked! 🎉
This has been a big milestone for us. The tote was originally set at $8,000, and thanks to your support and momentum, we’re unlocking it as we head into the final stretch. With 50 hours remaining, we’re hopeful we can still reach that goal together and finish strong.
The Clowder Tote Bag is designed to hold up to 10 Clowder Token Collection sets, making it perfect for game nights, storage, and travel. It will be available as an add-on and included for free with the Six Clowders and Seven Rainbow Clowders pledge levels.
We also want to remind everyone that we’ve moved fulfillment forward from October to May, so you’ll be getting your Clowder even sooner than expected.
As we enter these final hours, thank you again for all the support you’ve shown. Every pledge, share, and kind word has helped bring this project to life.
Before we wrap up, we’d also love to give a quick shoutout to a couple of upcoming projects:
Rascally Rabbits 🐰
Launching this July on BackerKit, Rascally Rabbits is a lively and interactive trick-taking game with a clever twist. Players write directly on shared cards, creating a playful mix of strategy and chaos. It’s been a really fun project to develop, and we’re excited to share more soon.

No No Puppy!
Launching this June on Kickstarter with our friends at Dead Alive Games, No No Puppy! is a playful, fast-paced bluffing game full of adorable chaos and unexpected twists. If you enjoy calling out your friends and a bit of mischief at the table, this one’s for you — and it’s not a take-that game. This will also be my second collaboration with Dead Alive Games, following Cat Rescue.

We’re in the 50-hour stretch, and every bit of support makes a difference. If you’ve been thinking about adjusting your pledge, adding a set, or sharing the campaign with a friend, now is the perfect time. Let’s carry this momentum through the finish line and make these final hours count. 🐾

🐾 Early Fulfillment Update

Happy Friday! I hope everyone is doing well.
I have some good news to share. We’re now planning to move the estimated fulfillment date forward from October 2026 to June 2026.
This decision comes from a shift in how the project is shaping up. At this point, it looks like we may not reach the 300 combined pledges needed to unlock the printed editions of the Companion Games. Without the need to coordinate printing for those games, the overall production process for the Clowder Token Collection becomes much simpler and more streamlined, allowing us to deliver earlier.
While this is not the outcome we had hoped for regarding the Companion Games, it doesn’t mean the end of the road for them. These games still deserve their moment, and I fully intend to return in the near future with a dedicated crowdfunding campaign focused on bringing all three Companion Games to print.
For those of you who supported the PNP editions in this campaign, thank you. Your support truly matters, and when we launch the Companion Games in the future, you’ll receive a special discount as a token of appreciation for helping support indie game designers.
Coming Soon — No No Puppies
I’m excited to share an upcoming project:
No No Puppies. A 2–7 player bluffing party game launching on Kickstarter this June. Your goal is to play puppies doing terrible (but adorable) things… and hope no one calls you out with a loud
“No No Puppies!”
Coming Up — Rascally Rabbits
Also coming soon:
Rascally Rabbits. A trick-taking game with a clever “trick-writing” twist, where players customize their own cards and outsmart each other with playful strategy. The campaign will launch on BackerKit at the end of July. If you enjoy unique trick-taking games and light strategy with surprising turns, I’d love for you to follow the project:
Thank you again for being part of this journey and for helping bring the Clowder to life. 🐾 Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

🐾 Designer Spotlight — Chris Lawrence

Hi everyone,
As we head through the campaign, we’d love to continue highlighting the amazing designers behind our Clowder Companion Games.
Today, we’re excited to feature Chris Lawrence, one of the talented local designers contributing to this project. Chris’s Companion Game brings a fun and thematic twist to the Clowder lineup, capturing the playful spirit of cats in a compact, easy-to-learn experience.
One of the goals of this project is to help indie designers share their work with a wider audience, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to collaborate with creators like Chris and see their ideas come to life.
Here’s a message from Chris:
Hey Chris here, designer of Cat Paper Scissors!
I’ve been a big board and video game nerd for almost my entire life, and’ve been designing games for the past several years. In addition to Cat Paper Scissors I created Propaganda and Coupon Clipper, and’ve sold them both physically (at various convention night markets) and as print-and-plays. Propaganda, a game where you use your phone to take carefully aimed photos in particular has garnered some very nice reviews from people, including Space-Biff!’s Dan Thurot.
I designed Cat Paper Scissors because I wanted a game that would be easily accessible to people, and knew basing it off an existing folk game would make the game easier to learn. If you know rock-paper-scissors, you know half the rules to Cat Paper Scissors! For the other half of the game, the engine building half, I took inspiration from the video game Q-UP. In Q-UP you flip a coin, and you get bonuses for either getting heads or getting tails. So for Cat Paper Scissors I designed it so each card gives you different bonuses depending on what you throw out, and if you win or lose with them.
The neat effect here of course is in rock-paper-scissors you choose what you throw out. And since you know what cards your opponent has you can try and predict what they’ll do. “They get a bonus for winning with paper, so I better throw out scissors. But if they know I’m going to throw out scissors, they might throw out rock (and get the bonus for winning with anything). But if they know I know…" I’ve had a lot of fun in Cat Paper Scissors trying to predict what people will do.
We hope you enjoy getting to know the designers behind these games as much as we’ve enjoyed working with them. Your support helps make projects like this possible, not just the tokens, but the people and creativity behind them.
Thank you again for being part of the Clowder. 🐾
Btw ... Ta-da!
Not all cats are acrobatic… Our Clowder has been practicing their balancing act ... Some nailed it, some are still a work in progress
. If you haven't, adopt your favorites today and see how they perform on your table
Oh, one more thing! My friend Dino Di Blasio just launched his game Meeple on Vacation on Kickstarter publishing by Play to Z. It’s a super fun, engaging roll-the-meeple game for everyone. Give it a look and show some support ... those meeples definitely deserve a vacation!

Hi everyone,
We’re now one week after launch, with one more week to go in the campaign. Thank you all for the amazing support so far. It’s been wonderful seeing the Clowder grow day by day.
Last weekend was WonderCon, and it was great to meet some of you in person. A few of you stopped by to say hi. Thank you so much! It was really fun connecting, and I hope you all had a fantastic show.
We also wanted to share a quick update on the Clowder Companion Games:
-
Sunbeam Catnap — 55 pledges
-
Cat Tree — 42 pledges
-
Cat Paper Scissors — 41 pledges
It’s exciting to see all three games getting so much interest. We’re making steady progress toward unlocking the printed editions, and your support for these indie-designed games truly means a lot.
As we head into the final week, thank you again for being part of this journey. If you’ve been enjoying the project, sharing it with friends who love cats and games can really help us finish strong.
Hope you have a wonderful week! 🐾
Cheers,
Ta-Te
🐾 We’re Funded — Thank You!

Hi everyone,
We did it! The Clowder Token Collection is officially funded! 🎉
Thank you all so much for your generous support. I truly appreciate each and every one of you for backing, sharing, and believing in this project. It means a lot, and I’m incredibly grateful to have such a supportive community.
One of the things I’m especially excited about with this campaign is the opportunity to support local indie designers. In fact, the idea for the Clowder Companion Games started from an unexpected conversation with Matt Zymet at our friend Sherri Perry’s monthly event. That simple moment sparked what has now grown into a meaningful part of this project, creating a space to highlight and support new designers and their games.
Here’s Matt’s designer story:
Hi! I’m Matt Zymet, designer of Sunbeam Catnap. My love for board games started when I was a kid in the 80s - I would ride my bike to the hobby store around the corner from my grandparents’ house with a wad of paper-route cash in my pocket, ready to burn it on games with names like Demons, The Creature That Ate Sheboygan, Invasion of the Air Eaters, and Bug Eyed Monsters! These were the old paper-map and cardboard chit games – but the box art… man that art inflamed my 11-year-old imagination – and set me on a course that would eventually lead to game design.
Cats were not a major theme in gaming back then. In fact, no one is more surprised than me that one of my first games is about cats and not monsters or spaceships. But inspiration struck watching my own two cats – Maeve and Ada (also little monsters) – sleeping in a sunbeam over the course of an afternoon, getting up and repositioning themselves to stay in the cozy warm light as it slowly moved across the floor. A quick search on the google-machine led to many timelapse videos showing cats doing exactly this, and Sunbeam Catnap was born!
I knew it needed to be a spatial-puzzle game at its core – fitting cats together in a moving sunbeam to score points. With a cozy theme, I wanted to keep it gently competitive, while rewarding clever play. From the first prototype through now, it’s evolved quite a lot, and the latest version that makes use of Ta-Te’s super-cute Clowder Tokens is definitely the best! I hope you’ll give it and the other Clowder Token companion games a look!

Projects like this are not just about bringing a product to life, but also about helping creative voices be seen and their ideas shared with more players.
Once again, thank you for your kind support. Not only for this project, but also for helping uplift local indie game designers.
Cheers,
Ta-Te
